Z I N G A R A x C O L O U R P O P

Colourpop has been a brand that I have been lusting over for the longest time. However I strayed away due to a few reasons - namely their shipping, customs, duty and VAT costs. But when I noticed they had free worldwide shipping with no minimum for the shopping basket, I knew I had to place an order. (Which soon became multiple orders - but we'll talk about that another time haha)

Today I will be discussing the Zingara collection by Colourpop which is a beautiful foursome of Super Shock Shadows. As soon as I saw the selection of shadows, I was feeling some serious Modern Renaissance vibes. (You'll see when I show you the photo's)

What's included?

Colourpop kindly provide a cute little postcard in every package of theirs, which I think is such a sweet gesture.

They also proved a small booklet containing information about their products and the methods in which they are best applied.

There are 4 shades in the collection - Paradox, Elixir, Seeker and Jinxie. Each Super Shock Shadow contains 2.1g of product.

Here is a photo of the shadows.

In this set, three of the shades (Paradox, Elixir and Seeker) are a matte formula. Whereas Jinxie is a satin.

Paradox is a burgundy red shade, perfect when paired with Elixir a muted terracota to create a sunset-inspired look. Seeker is your typical nutmeg brown - an ideal crease colour for tan complexions. Lastly, Jinxie is a light-toned gold filled with just the right amount of sparkle.

What I really enjoy about this formula is the silkiness of it. The shadows are soft, velvety and smooth to touch. They have no kick back when applying and also no fall out. (YAY) What's more, the shadows are comfortable on the eyes, don't lose pigment throughout the day or crease. (Atleast on me)

Here are some swatches.

Pricing

Colourpop products are all inexpensive, which is of course a substantial factor when I am looking to purchase makeup. Their shadows - Super Shock and pigments alike are priced at $5 each.(£3.87/ 4.44€) The Zingara collection retails for $18.(£13.95/15.99€)

Final thoughts

My first shopping experience with Colourpop and their products has been easygoing which clearly made the whole procedure enjoyable for me...because I ordered 7 more times after that haha. Tracking was provided, which reassured me a lot because I knew where my products where located and when I could expect to receive them.

In regards to the Zingara collection, I feel like these group of shadows were tailor-made for myself. To me these selection of eye-shadow's are perfect for those who are hazel or green-eyed. The combination of this quad really serves to elicit the green and orange hues in my eyes which is what I look for in a shadow.

All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase and I hope to order from Colourpop very soon. Thank you so much for visiting my post.

Much love,

  1. Yay for your very first blog post, lovely. And it's such a good one. I love the super shock shadows. The are so pigmented and feel like cream shadows even though they are pressed shadows.
    I can't for more posts.
